RF Prime Minister is interested in internal waterways development

Russian Government examines the model of the project «Construction of the Port Logistic Complex «Dmitrov Port» |
On July 15th, the Prime Minister of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has arrived to the Rostov region where he held meeting on the efficiency of the water resources usage and developing of internal waterways of Russia. During this trip the Prime Minister examined the second way of Kochetovsky lock. When the navigation was opened this year on April 1st, new way of Kochetovka let the first vessels pass in a mode of starting-up works, and on June 19th, the State Commission put the object into operation.
Vladimir Putin also visited the exhibition «The internal waterways infrastructure development» on which the Chief of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency - Alexander Davydenko presented the Prime Minister the model of the project «Construction of the Port Logistic Complex «Dmitrov Port» - the first large infrastructure project on Moscow Channel. Realization of this project will partially help to solve the problem of competitiveness of internal waterways increase. Vladimir Putin has closely examined the model and took a keen interest in the course of the project realization.
The Project goal is the construction of an advanced Port Logistic Complex in the framework of Public Private Partnership on the land plot alongshore Tatischevo lay-by of Moscow The total A-class warehouse area will make 100 000 m2 including FMCG and low-temperature warehouses and a terminal for containers’ processing, storage and transshipment.
The Dmitrov Port project fulfils the priorities of social-economic development of Russian Federation in the field of the federal program “The development of the transport system of Russian Federation in 2010-2015” as it plans the integration and development of water ways into transport-logistic multimodal system of cargo flows according to the main priorities and goals of “Internal water transport” program. The increase of worldwide container transportation defines the increase of transit cargo flows which makes the export of transit services highlighted by the federal program. The goal of this program is to raise the competitiveness and the development of transit potential and one of its main tasks is the development of the portal infrastructure.
This project was for the first time presented to the logistic society and the management of Russian Transport industry during the Russian-German logistics forum in October, 2006. The Expert council of Ministry of transportation of Russian Federation on public private partnership, held in May 2008, approved the construction of Dmitrov Port on Moscow Canal for assignment of government support from the Investment Fund of Russian Federation.
During "Transport week-2008” held in Sochi in May, 2008 many exponent companies’ CEOs and representatives of Ministry of transportation of Russian Federation, including assistant secretary of Transport Minister of Russian Federation V.Ereomin, deputy head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency O.Shakhmardanov, head of Volgo-Baltic state basin board of water-ways and navigation V.Nikolaev, expressed their opinion on good timing of port logistic complex “Dmitrov Port” construction and confirmed the relevance of the project’s support by the Investment Fund of Russian Federation.
The Port Logistic Comlex “Dmitrov Port” is a part of LITIER Logistic Network. LITIER Logistic Network creates multimodal logistic system, providing high level logistic services to retailers, distributors and development companies in the European part of Russia.
LITIER constructs and manages the network of A class logistic centers in Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Dmitrov, Saint-Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don. The total area of the warehouses will make over 500 000 m2.
