LITIER Group and SANNA Group strategic partnership: more freedom – more choice

In June, 2009 LITIER Group, engaged in creation of LITIER multimodal logistical network since 2006 and SANNA Group, the multimodal international logistic operator providing transport and customs logistics services for more than 18 years, held the expanded meeting on definition of the further strategy of the joint project SANNA-LITIER development.

Crisis and uncertainty in the world and Russian economy further development resulted in changes in Russian business and made the participants of our project make certain changes in the project strategy and management. Besides strategy, we also discussed perspectives of the network development, services quality questions, the price policy and many other aspects. LITIER Group, despite crisis, has confirmed LITIER network construction. SANNA Group has also confirmed the interest in the SANNA-LITIER joint project on creation of a multimodal logistical network with the sole operator. Considering the market changes, SANNA-LITIER project partners made certain changes in mutual obligations.

The first decision was the increase of partners’ independence in own decision making and in strategy of private business conducting. On the one hand, this freedom should improve efficiency and strengthen the companies’ competitiveness. On the other hand, it will untie hands and will increase their own possibilities of new clients’ attraction, as well as of their private business evolvement.
SANNA Group has been operating at the Russian logistic market for more than 18 years and offers high quality logistic solutions (including road, railway, sea cargo haulages both within the Russian Federation, and abroad) and private licensed customs broker services. The specialized SANNA Group companies now negotiate upon the creation of joint services with Russian Railways and with one of Russian largest private intermodal operators. The company, providing customs services, is under negotiations with the large foreign logistic operator on joint venture creation.

The second decision was that SANNA Group and SANNA-LITIER Group that it created for the project evolve their own business. After the LITIER network warehouses are constructed it is supposed that SANNA Group will continue its more detailed activity in the project. SANNA Group in 2007 has finished preparation for the introduction into the project by having created self multimodal logistic operator and the customs broker under SANNA-LITIER brand.

The warehouse operator LITIER Terminal, earlier known as SANNA-LITIER Terminal, offering warehouse storage services and a full spectrum of warehouse services at the network first logistic center of LITIER Domodedovo, is LITIER network private warehouse operator. At the first stage of LITIER multimodal logistical network evolvement it will cover the European part of Russia, including the Moscow region, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don and Kaliningrad.

The SANNA-LITIER project partners’ third decision concerns the change of approach to the project logistic blocks activity estimation for the better control of their efficiency. If earlier the project was estimated as a whole now it is divided into three blocks that partners manage personally.

LITIER Group conducts the warehouse activity block that will now carry LITIER brand. It is rational from the project management in questions of network warehouses activity point of view. Therefore SANNA-LITIER Terminal will be renamed into LITIER Terminal

SANNA Group conducts two blocks. The first concerns the cargos delivery by all kinds of transport (internal road haulage, international road haulage, railway, multimodal haulage, the organization of sea cargo transportation and freight forwarding in port), the second concerns customs and foreign trade activities participants’ legal support in customs questions.
LITIER Group and SANNA Group believe that their decisions will result in the clients’ additional advantage from the full complex logistic services in «one window» system, including road, railway, air haulages, warehouse services, customs broker services, as well as of separate services chosen from this complex.
